my heart’s passing

sometimes, i feel

like an anomaly,

a blotch of black ink

on the timeline of man,

hovering over the world

like a thick shadow.

i watch the pieces

of myself fracture

when all i want to leave

behind are the pristine

colors of my technicolor

heart and its lasting

desire to beat for more

than the maelstrom of me.

collage of cut magazine pieces with images of Earth, a heart, groups of people, a painting, space, etc
